At Archives of Operative Medicine (AOM), editorial independence and transparency are fundamental principles that guide all aspects of the editorial process. The journal strictly adheres to internationally recognized standards to ensure that editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, free from commercial, financial, or political influence.

Editorial Independence

The editorial team of Archives of Operative Medicine operates independently from the publisher, the BADE Institute, and any external stakeholders. Editors are free to make decisions on manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection based on the scientific quality, originality, relevance, and ethical integrity of the submissions.

  • The publisher does not interfere in editorial decisions.
  • Editorial staff and reviewers are protected from any influence that may compromise their objectivity.
  • Advertising, reprint, or sponsorship considerations do not influence editorial decisions.

The Editor-in-Chief has full authority over the editorial content of the journal and the timing of its publication.

Conflicts of Interest

All individuals involved in the editorial process—including editors, reviewers, and authors—are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could affect the objectivity or integrity of their contributions.

For Authors:

Authors must disclose any financial, personal, academic, or institutional relationships that could be perceived as influencing the submitted work. This includes (but is not limited to) employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patents, or grants.

A statement of conflict of interest must be included in the manuscript. If there are no conflicts, authors must explicitly state: "The authors declare no conflicts of interest."

For Editors and Reviewers:

Editors and reviewers must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest, such as personal relationships with the authors, academic competition, or financial interests related to the work.

All disclosed conflicts are reviewed and managed in accordance with COPE and ICMJE guidelines to ensure fair and unbiased editorial practices.
